'We want people to do more with video' says YouTube founder Chad Hurley says YouTube is focused on "content discovery technology".
YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley has revealed his future ambitions for video on the website.
In an interview with Loic Le Meur at Le Web conference in Paris, Mr Hurley said he wanted to improve the service YouTube offered its customers.
According to Techcrunch.com, when asked what was next for YouTube Mr Hurley replied: "We want people to do more with online video on YouTube of course.
"What we're very focused on right now is content discovery technology and how to make the finding great videos easier for users."
He said that over a billion videos a day were watched on the website and over 24 hours of content uploaded every minute.
However, he was unable to provide a "magic recipe" for creating a video that goes viral, but said: "There are ingredients that work, clearly. We want to give everyone the same fair chance to be seen and get discovered."
Last week BT announced it was developing a new platform which will improve the delivery of internet video.
The company said it was in talks with other internet service providers (ISPs) to implement the new system, which would see video stored on ISP networks instead of the web.
