The Times to up video production use for new website New websites for the Times and Sunday Times have been launched.
Video productions are to feature prominently on a new website for the Times as the newspaper relaunches behind an online pay-wall.
The News International owned title has undergone a website redesign as it rolls-out a subscription-only business model.
In addition, the Sunday Times has been given its own website for the first time.
Initially, a preview of the new websites will be available for a free trail period before a pay-wall is put up.
This will see subscribers asked to pay £1 a day or £2 for a week's access from June.
James Harding, editor of the Times, said, "The site will include interviews with the people who shape the news and exclusive video, giving readers the opportunity to get more from their favourite sections.
"This is just the start. We'll continue to add features to ensure the innovation that has been central to the Times for 225 years continues."
The Times was first published in the UK on January 1st 1785 having been founded as the Daily Universal Register by John Walter.
