Samsung has revealed that two internet video providers will have their services built into the manufacturer's TVs.

Last week at the Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung unveiled its Internet@TV which uses a variety of apps to deliver online content direct to television sets.

Now the Korean electronics giant has confirmed that two online video providers, BBC iPlayer and LOVEFiLM, will have apps available on the service.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, BBC director of future media and technology Erik Huggers said: "BBC iPlayer has enjoyed huge success since launch two years ago, and the next challenge for us is taking the service mobile and into the living room.

"We've built a version of BBC iPlayer that can be easily adapted to work on internet-connected TVs."

A number of ventures have been launched lately in an attempt to bring more internet content directly to televisions.

One such example is Project Canvass which is being spearheaded by the BBC. The proposal is to provide on demand content from a variety of companies via an internet connected set-top box.ADNFCR-2863-ID-19557243-ADNFCR
