Predicted rise in internet start-ups could lead to demand for video productions

Recent graduates may turn to internet video productions to help boost business following predictions many are likely to start their own online companies.

According to Chris Wickson, co-founder of graduate recruitment site Ratemyplacement.co.uk, a large number of graduates and current students will be considering starting their own business given the current challenging job market.

Mr Wickson indentified the online sphere as the likely starting point for many of these graduate entrepreneurs.

"Students are at the forefront of everything that is going on online. This generation of students have been using the internet, it's a natural thing for everyone to work with and, obviously, the costs involved with online businesses are so much lower," he said.

His comments follow a recent report from Federation of Small Businesses that predicted a record 300,000 people in the UK will set up their own business this year.

At the same time, the number of graduate vacancies has fallen by nearly seven per cent in 2010, according to the Association of Graduate Recruiters.
