Online video productions serve science community Special timelapse video productions are helping people monitor an annual astronomical event.
Scientists and astronomers are currently able to track the Perseid meteor shower using online video productions, it has been reported.
According to Web User, the University of Hertfordshire has set up a "sky camera" that will record the meteor shower in a timelapse video every night until it ends on August 14th.
The videos are part of a wider online collaboration for allowing people to record and share sightings of the shower.
Indeed, the Meteorwatch.org website is currently acting as an online hub for all activites surrounding the astronomical event, with Twitter members able to use the #meteorwatch hashtag to share sightings and read the observations of others, Web User said.
People can also record their sightings on a Twitter meteor map by using the hashtag and including their postcode, country and, optionally, the meteor count.
The Perseid meteor shower is an annual event that has been observed for the last 2,000 years.
