Companies that use online corporate video could find their productions are more easily accessible following the unveiling of a new super-fast broadband service.

BT has launched what they are calling Infinity broadband, which they say will allow users to download information at a speed of 40Mbps using fibre-optic technology.

It will also enable customers to upload data of speeds of 10Mbps.

According to BT, the new service will "transform" people's experience of using the internet offering significantly faster video streaming times from sites such as iPlayer and YouTube.

Gavin Patterson, chief executive officer, BT Retail, said: "The internet is essential to our customers' lives and they are demanding more and more as richer and even more compelling services become available.

"We want to give our customers the best possible online experience and are committed to rolling out super-fast speeds across the UK."

BT, along with the BBC and Channel 4, is one of the major partners signed up to Project Canvas which aims to stream internet video content to TV sets via a set-top box.ADNFCR-2863-ID-19571412-ADNFCR
