Mercedes plans 3D promotional video production A new promotional video from Mercedes will be released in 3D later this month.
Merecedes has shot a 3D promotional video for its latest sports car, it has been reported.
According to TopSpeed.com, a recently released 2D online video production of the new Mercedes SLS AMG is in fact a teaser for an upcoming 3D version due for release later this month.
The teaser features ex-Formula 1 racer David Coulthard driving the SLS AMG around the roads of the Isle of Man.
It also shows him hitting a top speed of 162 mph on a closed section of the Isle of Man TT course, making the film the fastest 3D movie that has ever been shot on land, TopSpeed.com noted.
Commenting on Mercedes' ploy to release the 2D teaser first, the website said: "It wasn't the promotion Mercedes had in mind. The German manufacturer was actually enlisting the help of Coulthard to shoot the first 3D promotional video for their latest sports car."
