Brown makes broadband promise Business could benefit from universal high speed broadband network, says expert.
Prime minister Gordon Brown has reiterated Labour's commitment to a nationwide high speed broadband network, something which could help video production users.
In a speech in London, Brown promised that the party's broadband investment plans would benefit everyone in the UK, not just the better off.
"We say that Britain's digital future must be a future for all, not just for some," he stated.
The move could provide a boost for companies that use online video production as it would allow a greater number of people to access their websites.
Commenting on the government's proposals, Paul Richens, proposition manager at broadband provider Eclipse Internet, said firms could see a range of benefits.
"We shouldnt forget the possibilities this opens up for businesses," he said.
"Faster broadband will allow companies to access a whole new range of online services and applications that the average UK business simply doesnt have the bandwidth for yet."
The government plans to invest £1 billion to bring high speed broadband to 90 per cent of the population by 2017.
