BP 'using video productions to boost corporate reputation' BP is reportedly investing in corporate video productions so as to boost its reputation following the major US oil spill.
Under-fire energy giant BP has turned to corporate video productions to help boost its reputation in the wake of the Louisiana oil spill.
With the company still working alongside the US government to plug the spill, it has been reported that the company has stepped up its efforts to improve its brand reputation online.
Citing the latest data compiled through Google Trends, Forbes reports that BP has been buying up online advertising space geared towards reaching people who search for terms relating to the oil spill.
Furthermore, the company has also set up its own YouTube channel, through which it is rolling out its own corporate video productions highlighting the work it is doing to clean up the mess caused by the spill.
Speaking to the news provider, PR expert Greg Jarboe explained that such an investment in "crisis marketing" could pay off, with Toyota having recently made a similar investment in corporate video productions in a bid to enhance its reputation in the wake of a major recall of its cars.
At the same time, Renault has unveiled its latest integrated marketing campaign, with video productions to be used alongside traditional media to promote its new Megane Coupe Cabriolet.
