BBC to make journalism educational video productions available to public College of Journalism website will now be open to public access.
Ordinary members of the public will be granted access to educational videos on journalism from the BBC, the corporation has announced.
The move forms part of the company's new BBC Academy, a dedicated centre of excellence for training in journalism, production, leadership and technology.
For the first time the BBC's College of Journalism's website will be freely available in the UK.
The site, which has been accessible to those inside the BBC for three years, features educational videos giving master-classes in journalism from such big names as Evan Davis, John Humphrys, Robert Peston and Jeremy Vine.
Deputy director-general Mark Byford said: " The BBC is determined to support the wider UK media industry through difficult times and, by sharing valuable training resources like the College of Journalism, we can help to secure the best standards and learning in the world."
The BBC recently signed up Channel 4 and TalkTalk as its latest partners for Project Canvas which aims to develop a set-top box that streams internet video content direct to TV sets.
