BBC to launch interactive online video production Viewers will be able to select storylines for online TV show.
The BBC is to launch an interactive online video production as a spin-off of its web TV show The Cut.
It will expand on characters and themes in the main series but will allow viewers to influence the plot by selecting from different storylines, reports New Media Age.
Geoffrey Goodwin, head of the BBC's online channel BBC Switch, told the news provider: "This is a great example of how broadcasters and brands like The Cut can work in online forums and social networks, which are so important for our audience."
He added that the show aimed to "grow new audiences and deepen the experience for our existing viewers" through exploring new ways of telling stories.
The video will be launched on bbc.co.uk, Facebook and YouTube on October 4th. From then on, four to six-minute episodes will be shown daily before being combined for a weekly episode shown on BBC2.
It has also been announced that the BBC is to undertake a world first when it beams a Charlatans gig in the UK to Japan in Super Hi-Vision which has a picture quality 16 times better than Full HD.
